Julie A. Vogelzang is an employment and business law attorney with a focus on wage and hour compliance and litigation. She has defended large, medium and small companies sued in class actions for alleged wage and hour violations, including misclassification and overtime cases, meal and rest break cases, background check cases, pregnancy/child care leave violations, and independent contractor status cases.
Ms. Vogelzang also defends companies and management accused of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation and unfair competition. She performs wage and hour audits, defends companies in claims presented to governmental agencies, provides legal advice to companies undertaking small and massive layoffs, conducts investigations into employee complaints, counsels employers on preventive practices and policies, and provides harassment, management and performance training.
Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Vogelzang served as law clerk to the Honorable William B. Enright of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
Ms. Vogelzang is a 1994 cum laude graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law, where she was editor of the Law Review and elected to the Order of the Coif, and a graduate of the University of Virginia
